Imagine you're looking to grow your savings for a dream vacation or a comfortable retirement. Suddenly, you receive a message or a call offering an opportunity to invest and make huge profits. 
They might suggest joining WhatsApp or Telegram groups or clicking on links to start trading, with outrageous promises like “starting with just AED 100, you can easily earn a whopping 1 million in profit.” It sounds too good to be true, but the promise of quick wealth is hard to resist. 

What’s the scam?
These investment scams prey on the desire for financial security, luring you with tempting returns and promises of easy money. But don't be fooled by their promises. These schemes are nothing but traps set by scammers to steal your hard-earned money. Stay vigilant and remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Another trending scams nowadays is from a fake telecommunications provider. Through email or SMS, you’ll get a message that says you've been debited for your most recent bill and that you've been overcharged. They promise a refund and even throw in a 10% discount as a special gift.
The message includes a link to claim your refund. Trusting the familiar brand, you click on it and are directed to a page that looks just like your provider's site. You're asked to enter your credit card details to process the refund.
What’s the scam?
Once you provide your information, you receive an OTP, supposedly to complete the transaction. Unbeknownst to you, this gives scammers access to your credentials.

Utilities Bill Payment Scam

You order something online at least once a month and it’s always exciting to get that email saying that your order is on its way. So, when you eagerly check your e-mail for updates on that cute dress you ordered and find a message titled ‘Parcel Shipping Details’, it catches your eye. It claims your shipment is on hold and awaiting processing. Clicking the link, you're taken to a convincing website where you're asked to verify personal details. Without hesitation, you enter your credit card info, address, date of birth, and phone number.

What’s the scam?
Weeks pass, but your parcel never arrives. However, you see unauthorised transactions appear on your credit card statement. You’ve fallen for a scam. Remember, fraudsters use fake courier emails or messages to trick you into giving away personal information. Stay sharp and never disclose sensitive details in response to suspicious messages.

But don't be fooled. This website is like a wolf in sheep's clothing, designed with one purpose: to steal your credit card details. Despite their polished appearance, they're nothing more than elaborate traps set by scammers. Stay vigilant, and don't let the allure of a too-good-to-be-true deal lead you into their clutches.

For added security and your peace of mind, we&rsquo;ll be sending you free SMS alerts anytime you pay with or withdraw from your card. You&rsquo;ll receive a notification on your registered mobile phone number as soon as the transaction is validated.

While passing the time, you open your Facebook account and spot a too-good-to-be-true offer from a well-known brand. It's an "online only" deal promising massive discounts. And despite warnings  about scammers posting fake promos, the offer seems tempting, especially if you see these coinciding with holidays or other special occasions.


But beware, these enticing offers might be retail brand scams. They pop up on platforms like Snapchat, TikTok, and Facebook, aiming to deceive users with fake promotions. Don't fall for the trap. Stick to trusted sources and exercise caution, especially during seasons known for deals and discounts.

Imagine you're driving, minding your own business, when suddenly you receive a message that looks like it's from a government agency. It has all the official logos and seems urgent. The message claims you've incurred a traffic charge and must pay a fine immediately. There's even a link provided for payment.
Feeling anxious, you click on the link, which takes you to a webpage that mirrors the official government site. Without thinking twice, you enter your credit card and personal information, believing you're settling a legitimate fine.

What’s the scam?
You've fallen victim to an “authority” or “official entity impersonation” scam. Those messages and websites are clever tricks by fraudsters to steal sensitive information. Stay cautious and always verify the legitimacy of such messages before providing any personal details. Don't let the fear of fines cloud your judgment.

You’re bored and hungry and to pass time, you scroll through your social media apps. Suddenly, an ad by your well-loved fast-food chain catches your eyes as it shouts: ‘Buy 1, get 1 free!’ or ‘50% OFF!’. The ad's convincing appearance, coupled with familiar logos and branding, prompts you to click through to a website that seems legitimate. So, you choose your meal, fill in your payment info, and proceed to order. 

But instead of that burger your craving, what you get are card notifications about transactions and purchases that you did not make.  

What’s the scam?
Once a scammer has your card info, they can easily make purchases and other financial transactions using your card.
