If you intend to close your RAKBANK credit card, the steps below will guide you through the process. You can also explore other RAKBANK credit cards and products that may better suit your lifestyle and banking needs here.

To close your RAKBANK credit card, please follow the steps outlined below.  

Before starting, please make sure that:

• Your credit card balance is fully paid
• Any payment plans, including easy payment plans, are completed

Once everything is settled, call our Contact Center on 600544049. One of our agents will help you submit the card closure request.

After the closure is processed, please destroy your physical card for your security.

If your credit card has an excess balance, we recommend using the available amount before requesting the closure.

If the balance isn’t used, RAKBANK will automatically adjust it against one of the following, if available:

• Another RAKBANK credit card or loan
• A linked RAKBANK account

If you don’t have any other active RAKBANK products, the excess balance will be handled separately.

If your credit card is closed with an excess balance, the refund is handled based on the amount:

• If the excess amount is more than 100
  A Manager’s Cheque will be issued in your name and sent to your registered address.
• If the excess amount is 100 or less
  The amount will be kept safely with RAKBANK until you request a refund.

If you need to collect an excess balance, here’s how it works:

1. Call the Contact Center on 600544049 to raise your request
2. Let us know which RAKBANK branch you’d prefer to visit
3. Visit the selected branch with your original and valid Emirates ID to complete the process
